Description

The Ohaus Starter series of electrodes provide accurate and precise measurements of pH, oxidation-reduction potential, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, and temperature. They are compatible with Ohaus's AquaSearcher and Starter Meters. The Starter Dissolved Oxygen Electrodes use either galvanic or optical (luminescence) sensors. Galvanic sensors are active at all times and will degrade in storage as well as during use.  Optical sensors are ideal for long-term monitoring applications due to their minimal maintenance requirements. Over a long period of time, the dye degrades and the sensing element and membrane will need to be replaced but not as frequently as electrochemical sensor membranes.

The STDO11 is a galvanic electrode with a silver cathode and zinc anode. When oxygen passe through the electrode it is reduced at the cathode which increases the current read by the electrode. The electrode is 120 mm in length, has a plastic body and a BNC connector. This electrode is compatible with Starter 300D portable meter.

The STDO21 uses optical sensing and is compatible with the Starter 400D portable meter.
