Product Description

The Guardian Equipment GFR1205 shower is designed for cold weather and outdoor operations and is horizontally mounted from the wall. The unit is activated by pushing the aluminum flag handle and the unit stays on until the handle is manually reset. As shown on page 2 of the product specification sheet (below), this unit gets its freeze resistance by having the valve located within the heated envelope of the building. Please specify wall thickness when ordering.

Options include orange, yellow, and green ABS as well as polished chrome-plated brass and stainless steel shower heads. The Guardian models GFR1902 and GFR1909 another freeze-resistant shower option and they contain an eyewash and eye/face wash, respectively. For the most demanding applications the heat-traced and insulated-jacked GFR3100 series is another option, albeit a significantly more expensive one.

Options

Application: Freeze-resistant emergency shower for horizontal mounting. Valve and supply line are located behind wall in heated area to prevent freezing. Since unit is intended for use in cold weather conditions, consideration should be given to supplying unit with tempered water in accordance with ANSI Z358.1-2014. See the Application Note in the right column.

Shower Head: 10" diameter orange ABS plastic w/ 20 GPM flow control.

Valve: 1" IPS chrome plated brass stay-open ball valve. Valve is US-made with chrome plated brass ball and Teflon® seals. Valve handle is mounted on extension rod that projects through wall. Specify wall thickness when ordering.

Pipe and Fittings: Supplied by others (see specification sheet).

Supply: 1" NPT female inlet.

Sign: ANSI-compliant identification sign, item # 250-006G.

Application Note

An optional G6040 thermostatic mixing valve (tempering unit) which precisely blends hot and cold water to deliver warm (tepid) water as provided by ANSI Z358.1-2014 may be required under your state or local plumbing codes.
