- DILVAC Blue Metal-Cased Glass Dewar Flasks
Product Description
DILVAC Dewar flasks are for the storage and transport of liquified gases such as nitrogen or helium as well as Dry Ice. These flasks are constructed of double-walled and silvered borosilicate glass which is vacuum pumped before sealing to minimize thermal transfer and ensure a long cryogen holding time. Each glass component is wrapped in a handsome blue metal case to resist damage, and comes with a bail-style handle for easy carrying. Each also includes a vented lid which can be secured with the included lid clamp to minimize spillage of the contents during transport while ensuring the pressure release necessary with such systems.
Typical applications include transport of cryogens as well as cooling traps on Schlenk and high-vacuum manifolds. We also offer the same flasks but with a stainless steel shell (item # 25001) as well as a lineup of low-profile Dewars which are ideal for reaction vessels such as round-bottom flasks (item # 25002).
These Dewars are available in four separate sizes:
Item # | Capacity (L) | Overall Diameter | Overall Height | Internal Diameter | Internal Depth | Shipping Weight | Holding Time (hr) |
25000-010 | 1 | 4.5 in (116 mm) | 9 in (228 mm) | 3.3 in (85 mm) | 7.2 in (185 mm) | 5 lb (2.3 kg) | 38 |

Application note: Cryogenic work presents a number of safety hazards which can result in severe injury or death if not properly addressed. Please consult the SDS HyperGlossary entry on cryogens for additional information and general precautions.
