Badger F-250-2 Universal Ultra AR-AFFF Foam Stored Pressure Extinguisher, 2.5 Gallon

The Badger F-250-2 Universal Ultra AR-AFFF Foam Extinguisher is rated 1A:30B  and is for use on Class A (ordinary combustibles) and B (flammable liquid) fires. This alcohol resistant (AR) aqueous film-forming foam (AFFF) is specifically formulated for optimum performance in a hand portable fire extinguisher. When sufficiently applied, Universal Ultra’s vapor sealing capability can actually prevent a fire from happening or reigniting. The unique synthetic base of Universal Ultra foam has no offensive odor, is non-toxic, environmentally-friendly, biodegradable and extremely simple to use and clean up, especially compared to dry chemical agents.

This UL listed unit features an easy-to-pull stainless steel ring pin that makes activation a breeze, and the hex valve collar tightening ring makes recharging easy. The extinguisher has a full stainless steel cylinder and base, plated brass valves, and a stainless steel handle and lever. The anodized aluminum air-aspirating nozzle is machined for heavy duty application. Manufacturer's warranty: 6 years. This extinguisher must be protected from freezing and cannot be used on fires involving live electrical equipment. 

This unit ships empty and comes with one bottle of foam concentrate to charge it with. The user can charge the extinguisher with a compressed air or nitrogen using the F-250 recharge concentrate (Badger p/n 23702SP), potable water, and a pressurization adapter (see item # 09624-RA). You can download the Badger SDS for the AR-AFFF concentrate. This unit uses the UB-20 bracket (item # 09675-UB20) which is sold separately.

Revision history

The original F-250 was replaced by the F-250-1 in approximately 2018. This was then succeeded by the F-250-2 which began shipping in 2022. These modifications involve a slight change to the cylinder shape at the top and introduced the following new features over the original model: 1) Ergonomic stainless steel handles and levers, 2) a service-friendly hex hose coupling (early 2022), 3) modernized bilingual nameplates, 4) a prominent Badger emblem, 5) new polished stainless steel cylinders with crevice-free butt weld construction and 6) a stainless steel siphon tube assembly.

The part number, 23697, remained the same across these changes, and service parts of the -2 version are backwards compatible with the earlier versions.
