The Ohaus Starter series of electrodes provide accurate and precise measurements of pH, oxidation-reduction potential, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, and temperature. They are compatible with Ohaus's AquaSearcher and Starter Meters. Oxidation-Reduction Potential (ORP) electrodes, or Redox electrodes, test for the overall availability of electrons in a medium. This is the only practical method to electronically monitor sanitizer effectivness. It is commonly used to test water in swimming pools and aquariums.

The STORP1 is a non-refillable, plastic electrode with a ceramic pin junction and a BNC connector. The refilling referene electrolyte is 3 M KCl gel. The STORP2 has similar properties but it is refillable, using a 3M KCl solution as the electrolyte.
