Guardian GBF2160 and GBF2X62 Series Recessed Safety Stations with Drain Pan, Recess Mounted Shower Head
Product Description
The Guardian Equipment GBF2160 safety station features a ceiling-mounted recessed shower head ideal for mounting in 8 foot ceilings as well as a recess-mounted emergency eye and face wash which is activated by pulling it forward from the wall. The GBF2150 is similar but has an exposed shower head that works well with taller ceilings. The GBF2170 is similar except the shower is wall-mounted.
The GBF2162 is the same unit, only it has a "daylight drain" that empties from the front of the unit instead of draining into the building waste lines. This is useful when connecting to the existing waste line would be expensive or difficult, reducing your installation costs. The daylight drain version comes in several versions; the model numbers with an asterisk are built to customer specifications on demand and are only available by special order (please inquire):

Application: Recessed barrier-free eye/face wash and shower safety station with ceiling mounted concealed shower head and drain pan. Stainless steel cover provides attractive appearance and protects unit when not in use. When activated, cover serves as pan to collect waste water and return it into unit for drainage. ADA Compliance: When installed at recommended mounting heights, unit complies with ADA requirements for accessibility by handicapped persons. Shower Head: 10" diameter with flange for flush mounting in ceiling. Shower head is stainless steel. Shower Valve: 1" IPS brass stay-open ball valve with stainless steel “panic bar” actuator. Cover/Drain Pan: 16 gauge stainless steel combination cover and drain pan. Grasping “panic bar” handle and opening cover pulls spray head assembly down from vertical to horizontal position, activating water flow. While unit is in operation, waste water is collected in drain pan and returned into cabinet for drainage (GBF2160) or is re-directed to the daylight drain for drainage out the front of the unit. These units remain in operation until the cover/drain is returned to the closed position. Eye/Face Wash Spray Head Assembly: Two FS-Plus™ spray heads mounted on supply arms. Each spray head has individually adjustable flow control and filter to remove impurities from water. Eye/Face Wash Valve: 1/2" IPS brass rotating plug-type valve. Furnished with Teflon® coated O-ring seals and in-line strainer to protect valve from debris and foreign matter. Mounting: 16 gauge stainless steel cabinet with flange featuring 3/8” return for recessed mounting in wall. Unit fits in standard 3-5/8" deep wall. Supply: 1" NPT female inlet. Waste: 2" NPT female outlet. Sign: Furnished with ANSI-compliant identification sign, item # 250-009G. Quality Assurance: Unit is completely assembled and water tested prior to shipment. Note: ANSI Z358.1-2014 provides that shower heads be installed no more than 96" above the finished floor. This unit should therefore not be installed in ceilings over 8 feet. For higher ceiling heights, we recommend the GBF2150 instead. |
AP250-064 Test Kit includes a removable fitting with elbow and drain tube that installs in the daylight drain for testing the unit. APBF250-065 Modesty curtain. AP280-230 Electric light and alarm horn. RC - Rear connection. The connections are made from the rear of the unit rather than within the wall. This uses a different cabinet style, is more expensive, and is available only by special order. Contact us for pricing and availability. Application Note An optional G6040 thermostatic mixing valve (tempering unit) which precisely blends hot and cold water to deliver warm (tepid) water as provided by ANSI Z358.1-2014 may be required under your state or local plumbing codes. |
