Product Description
The Guardian Equipment G1658 shower has a semi-recessed design for installation in ceilings 8 to 10 feet above the finished floor. The unit is activated by pulling on the solid pull rod and the shower valve stays open until the pull rod is manually pushed up. This unit is functionally similar to the G1629 which is a fully recessed design intended for use in standard 8-foot ceilings. If you have very high ceilings, consider a regular horizontal mount model like the G1643. The GBF1658 is the ADA-compliant version of this model; we encourage all users to consider universal design when purchasing safety equipment even if there is no current need.

Application: Emergency shower for semi-concealed mounting in a finished ceiling. Unit is designed for installation in ceilings 8-10 feet above finished floor. Shower Head: Shower head is 10" diameter stainless steel with 20 GPM flow control. Furnished with vertical supply pipe and ceiling escutcheon for mounting shower head at desired height above finished floor. Valve: 1" IPS brass stay-open ball valve. Valve is Pipe and Fittings: Exposed pipe and ceiling escutcheon are brushed stainless steel. Supply: 1" NPT female inlet. Sign: ANSI-compliant identification sign, item # 250-009G. Note: ANSI Z358.1-2014 provides that shower heads be installed no more than 96" above the finished floor. |
PCC All-polished chrome plated brass construction. Application Note An optional G6040 thermostatic mixing valve (tempering unit) which precisely blends hot and cold water to deliver warm (tepid) water as provided by ANSI Z358.1-2014 may be required under your state or local plumbing codes.
