The Ohaus Starter series of electrodes provide accurate and precise measurements of pH, oxidation-reduction potential, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, and temperature. They are compatible with Ohaus's AquaSearcher and Starter Meters. The conductivity electrodes measure the total ionic concentration within a sample. They provide a a rapid and inexpensive method for determining the ionic strength of a solution which is necessary in a wide range of industries. A basic conductivity cell consists of a pair of electrodes that are placed in a sample. The ratio of the distance between the electrodes and their surface is the cell constant which is then related to the conductivity and concentration of the sample solutions.
The STCON7 utilizes a 2-pole potentiometric method employing 316L stainless steel. It has a 95 mm long steel shaft and a mini-DIN connector. Its measuring range is 0.02 µS/cm-200 µS/cm and is ideal for boiler feed-water and ultra-pure water analysis.
The STCON5 has a standard conductivity range and is excellent for general lab applications. The STCON8 is best for ultra-pure water analysis and includes a detachable glass chamber.
