Product Description
Glas-Col's Large Capacity Laboratory Mixer is an orbital mixer with pulse vortexing capability that decreases the amount of time required to prepare numerous dilutions or standard solutions. The aggressive mixing action coupled with the pulsing feature allows for faster and more thorough mixing of volumetric flasks, bottles, well plates, vials, and more. At low speeds, the unit affords gentle orbital-type shaking, and at higher speeds, it can provide vigorous vortexing.
This unit features easy-to-use controls. The speed knob adjusts the mixing from 100 to 1,500 RPM. The pulse action in which the mixing suddenly stops can be turned on or off, and the pulsing frequency knob allows the user to set a pulse rate from 80 to 100 pulses per minute. The pulsing interrupts the vortexing to join the upper and lower strata for more thorough mixing.
The complete system pictured here with a flat bottom pad and solid top hold down cover is all you need to start mixing bottles, well plates and other flat objects. Simply place your sample on the foam bottom pad, cinch down top hold down cover and you're good to go.
To shake volumetric flasks, you'll also need A) the appropriate 1/2" foam pad for the flask size you're using (EACH SOLD SEPARATELY) and B) the universal hold down cover with holes (item # 21321-HC, SOLD SEPARATELY); the hold down cover works with all five pads:
- 25 mL volumetric flasks (49 positions), item # 21321-25
- 50 mL volumetric flasks (14 positions), item # 21321-50
- 100 mL volumetric flasks (14 positions), item # 21321-100
- 250 mL volumetric flasks (8 positions), item # 21321-250
- 500 mL volumetric flasks (6 positions), item # 21321-500
This interchangeable cartridge system with chemically-resistant foam pads allows the user to quickly switch from one type of vessel to another, or to mix more than one type of vessel at a time.
The small size of this unit (18.25" w x 7" d x 13.5" h) makes it ideal for bench top use. The DC motor has a filter control for smooth operation and longer motor life. It is equipped with vibration-absorbing feet as well as holes on each end so it can be permanently mounted if desired. Operating temperature: 32 to 100 °F (0 to 27 °C) and 0 to 90% relative humidity. Weight: 80 lb (36.3 kg).
Available in 120 V, 240 V, or 240 V CE configurations.
