These construction signs are a MUST in any blasting area. Since radio-frequency (RF) energy can cause the premature firing of electric detonators (blasting caps) road-users must be instructed to promptly turn off their radio and cellular devices.

These signs meet the standards of MUTCD (Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices) Section 6F.40 (Signs of Blasting Areas). According to Section 6F.42, The "TURN OFF 2-WAY RADIO AND CELL PHONE sign (W22-2) shall follow the BLASTING ZONE AHEAD sign and shall be placed at least 300 m (1,000 ft) before the beginning of the blasting zone.

These 36" x 42" heavy-duty 0.080" aluminum signs will not rust or corrode. They have a reflective sign face that provides added visibility in low-light conditions and the UV-resistant inks prevent fading during long-term outdoor use. This 12.1 lb sign can be mounted on a post or fence using the top and bottom center holes. The surface-printed prismatic sheeting (recognized by the Federal Highway Administration) is bonded to the aluminum to withstand extreme temperatures (service temperature range is -40° to 250° F) and outdoor environments.

Choose from two reflective finishing materials:

  • High-Intensity Prismatic (HP): 3X brighter than Engineer-Grade Prismatic. Non-metalized micro-prismatic lens reflective sheeting is effective for daytime, nighttime and artificial light conditions. Provides durability and long-term reflectivity. Meets the specifications of ASTM D4956 Type 1, D4956-09 Type III and Type IV, as well as ASTM 4956-07 Type X standards.
  • DG High-Prism (DP): 10X brighter than Engineer-Grade Prismatic. Provides the highest level of reflectivity and maintains great visibility and reflectivity from far away and at wide angles. Meets the specifications of ASTM D4956 Type 1 and Type XI standards.
