Distillation Adapters, 105° Vacuum Take-Off

These distillation adapters have standard taper top outer and lower inner joints with a sealed-in drip tip. Each adapter is bent at a 105° angle for use in vacuum distillation. The serrated hose connection has an O.D. of 10 mm at the largest serration for connection to vacuum source and is available in styles facing away (Style A) and towards (Style B) from the upper joint.

Style A is traditionally the most popular version when performing vacuum distillations as the vacuum hose does not need to loop back towards the distillation apparatus.

Application note: Some vacuum distillations need to be performed at a specific pressure rather than full dynamic vacuum. To maintain a relatively low vacuum (~2-50 torr), one can use an adjustable bubbler such as item # AF-0513-A-21 as a low-tech vacuum control (manostat). For those situations where you need to operate at pressures as high as 760 torr or want to avoid the use of mercury (a good idea), consider a Mano-Watch™ vacuum controller/monitor, item # 20900-A.
