- BO127S Vacuum Aspirator for WaterSaver Laboratory Water Faucets
Product Description
The WaterSaver Faucet Company's BO127S vacuum aspirator fits on their standard laboratory water faucets. It is not compatible with other brands. The water inlet is 3/8" NPS male and the outlet has a hose barb that can also accept a BO124 Splash Eliminator (sold separately).
Aspirators are routinely used in laboratories for low-vacuum applications such vacuum filtration. The rushing water provides an approximately 0.46 PSI vacuum through the Venturi effect depending on the flow rate as well as the water and laboratory temperatures. The colder the water the supply, the lower the vapor pressure and, therefore, the lower (better) the achievable vacuum (do not use aspirators with hot water). The sidearm provides vacuum to your system, typically using 3/8" or 9 mm rubber pressure tubing (we do not sell this tubing but it is available at most local hardware stores).
Overall length installed: ~ 128 mm. Width: 40.5 mm. Depth: 21.5 mm. This item can be attached using a 3/4" wrench. The sidearm barbs have an OD of 9.6 mm and the barbed portion of the sidearm is ~ 16 mm wide. The OD of the lower stem is 9.6 mm. This item includes the O-ring shown here. The polished chrome finish is designed to match WaterSaver's standard faucet line.
TECHNICAL NOTE: When filtering organic liquids with high vapor pressure such as diethylether, methylene chloride and more, these vapors will be drawn into the discharged water stream. This may therefore present hazards of flammability, toxicity and/or contaminant discharge into the wastewater system. The user should perform a risk assessment to determine whether the use of this vacuum aspirator is appropriate for the materials and conditions being used. For example, in some cases a dry ice condenser or other cryogenically cooled vacuum trap may be necessary to keep solvent vapors from escaping.
FOR LABORATORY USE ONLY.
